To some internet marketers, submitting feeds to RSS directories might be sounded so outdated. Instead, nowadays webmasters are spending their most time on building backlinks and promoting content in social media. In the beginning, I was skeptical as well because submitting feeds to RSS directories is so 2009. Yea, I used to do that as well, and I believer most internet marketers had done that as well. It is just that now we have so many choices, and we tend to neglect some old methods of generating traffic.

To begin, your website need to have XML or Feedburner feed. I would highly recommend using Feedburner feed. It is free and it only takes less than 5 minutes to set it up. . But again, it really depends on RSS directories, some of them might only accept XML feed, whereas others might accept both.
